Let’s face it, when challenges arise in your relationship, it can feel like your world is in chaos.

Hi! I’m Bob Basque, and I specialize in helping couples who feel they've lost their way in their relationship overcome their challenges. My clients face struggles similar to yours. Even though they are smart, accomplished, and skilled at tackling most problems in life, navigating the complexities of relationship strife can be incredibly confusing.

Reignite your potential as a couple and rediscover your love.

When couples come to see me, it’s often because they’ve been feeling a bit stuck and at odds with each other for a while. You might find yourselves arguing over little things or sensing that you’re drifting apart, living more like roommates than partners. Sometimes, there are deeper issues, like betrayals, or struggles with alcohol or other substances that complicate things.

Before reaching out for help, it’s common to wonder where the love you once had has gone. You want to make sense of everything, but the ongoing disagreements can feel really tough, leading to feelings of frustration. Many people worry that they’re failing in their relationship and fear that without a change soon, things might end poorly. It can feel a little hopeless, but the truth is, you don’t have to navigate this alone.

You absolutely deserve to have a joyful and fulfilling relationship! Rekindling the love you share is possible, and I’m here to help you on that journey.

Let’s connect and take the first step together! I’m excited to work with you!

WHAT WE’LL DO TOGETHER

Counseling begins with 4 easy steps:

1) Relationship Interview

You and your. partner meet with me for a relationship interview, where each person gets a chance to share their thoughts and feelings and explain things from their point of view.

2) At Home Assessment

After we get to know each other in the first session, you'll fill out a really helpful research-based assessment at home.

It measures how satisfied you are in your relationship and gives you a clear look at both the good stuff and the areas that need some work.

4) Feedback Session

The Feedback Session happens at least a day after the individual sessions, giving me some time to go over everything and come up with useful feedback on the assessment results.

In this meeting, you and your partner will chat with me about what’s working well in your relationship and the areas that might need a little extra attention. You’ll also discuss how therapy could help you tackle any challenges you’re facing.

After the Feedback Session, you can decide whether you want to start therapy or take some time to think it over.

If you both want to keep going and I think it’s a good idea, you can set up regular sessions from there

3) Individual Interviews

Each partner will have a chance to chat with me one-on-one. This is a great opportunity to share your honest views about the relationship, as well as some personal background and what you’re hoping to achieve together.

These individual conversations are really helpful for figuring out how to improve your relationship and make it even better!

Common questions about couples counseling

  • Couples therapy usually involves anywhere from 12 to 25 sessions, but it really depends on what the couple needs and their goals for the relationship.

  • Modern couples therapy works for about 75% of couples. Those who struggle often do so due to abusive relationships, where therapy is ineffective until the abuse stops. Your success in therapy largely depends on your willingness to change.

If you focus more on being "right" than on being happy, you'll likely have a tough time. Effective couples therapy requires readiness to change, self-honesty, and openness to new approaches.

  • The truth is, it’s far more affordable than going through separation or divorce!

You've invested a lot in your relationship, and it can be painful to see it falter. When a relationship is at risk, the emotional toll is significant. Watching love fade is hard, and letting go of shared dreams and hopes can be incredibly difficult.

Next, let's discuss the financial cost—this can be overwhelming! The average cost of a wedding is $30,000 or more, while the average cost of a divorce is $17,000 without children and about $26,000 with children.

Investing in saving your relationship can be one of the best decisions you'll ever make. Most couples spend between $1,000 and $3,000 on couples counseling, a true bargain compared to the cost of separation or divorce.
